Quintessential character home gets a designer renovation

The Brindal Close renovation was about marrying English charm, elegance and simplicity with contemporary European style and functionality. Our clients were seeking builders who could provide a highly resolved, contemporary renovation while managing relationships with the local municipal approval process and building strong connections with contracting teams fluent in the type of detailing that was required. In choosing Transform, they sought our trust and expertise, and were able to take this project much further than imagined. We successfully tackled the challenge of rethinking the initial dimensions and purpose of the building, resulting in a coherent dwelling that embodies the owners' values and personality.

For the Bicton project, we used the historic reference of the building to mesh classical planning principles with modern practices. We found innovative ways to maintain integrity and instill harmony, particularly through use of materials and techniques. The beautifully appointed kitchen space was designed to create ambience, with white ash timber inlaid into the floors, posing a striking juxtaposition between the upper and lower levels. We incorporated al fresco entertaining and deck areas that threaded interventions through the house in a modern way and offered an outdoor respite for summer days. Overall, the result was preservation of the existing building while grafting on a modern aspect that infuses new life and energy into a charming home.

The experience of building
was definitely positive
.

We found it a pleasure that a company would listen to what we had to say and turn it into reality. A solution was always presented and we worked together to achieve the best result. We were impressed by the quality trades as they were always willing to provide input and go beyond our expectations.”

An outstanding quality job,
right from the beginning.

After experiencing the work and services they provided to our recently renovated offices, it was an easy decision to have them work on our personal home. From design to final build, the quality was exceptional. The trades were respectful of our home and understanding during the periods when we actually lived in the house whilst building again.

From the get go, we felt part
of the Transform family
.

Boardroom planning discussions were professional. No problem was ever too big, an attitude which carried throughout the extensive renovations. Our living at home comfort was first priority for the team of workers each day,. We watched our dreams come to reality in the hands of professionals at a fast pace and with exceptional quality.
