Tradition meets modern in Perth’s inner northern suburbs
Clieveden Street was a balancing act between preserving the old and introducing the new. Faithfully retaining the traditional neighbourhood look and the integrity of the circa-1930 character home was important to the client. But the Californian bungalow style renovation needed to evoke a new energy and embrace new beginnings for the North Perth owners. They entrusted us with keeping the essence of the house while adding a contemporary tone through a careful mix of heritage and modern styles. As such, the classical composition of the home — brick, wood, glass, marble and stone — was opened to reveal a liveliness that facilitated an intense appreciation of family connection.
Restoration of columns and gables to the facade, and preservation of a wealth of interior architectural details, including feature leadlight doors and windows, ornate ceilings and plaster moldings forming cornices and architraves was a priority. Then a tailored chef's kitchen was installed in the heart of the house that represented the fusion of the old and the new home's identity. Custom timber joinery with provincial finishes throughout the interior also reflected the balance. A vestige to early-century American architecture, the presence of history was rejuvenated all the way to the back of the residence. Our precise distinction of traditional and contemporary elements served to highlight and complement the defining characteristics of the home.

The experience of building
was definitely positive.
“We found it a pleasure that a company would listen to what we had to say and turn it into reality. A solution was always presented and we worked together to achieve the best result. We were impressed by the quality trades as they were always willing to provide input and go beyond our expectations.”

An outstanding quality job,
right from the beginning.
“After experiencing the work and services they provided to our recently renovated offices, it was an easy decision to have them work on our personal home. From design to final build, the quality was exceptional. The trades were respectful of our home and understanding during the periods when we actually lived in the house whilst building again.”

From the get go, we felt part
of the Transform family.
“Boardroom planning discussions were professional. No problem was ever too big, an attitude which carried throughout the extensive renovations. Our living at home comfort was first priority for the team of workers each day,. We watched our dreams come to reality in the hands of professionals at a fast pace and with exceptional quality.”
